Dreams do come true!

Hey fam! So Sister Kerby's number one thing that she wanted to do before she died (went home) was to go to the one and only ORIGINAL DEL TACO!  We made it to Barstow! Which is located in Barstow (And the original really is way better than the others). So we have been walking all month and saving up miles so we would have enough for a road trip. And can I just say We Did It! We drove about 100 miles to get to the original del taco all the way in Barstow, we even picked up the hermanas on the way :). And people say nothing great is in Barstow, pshh. Well if any of y'all are passing through I highly suggest ya go. Del Taco, the original. So this week has been full of excitement, we had two people we are teaching come to church!!! We weren't expecting them to say they would because they never had, but they did this week. And this week was stake conference! And because the stake is so big it was broadcasted to our building... And there were some major te...

One month?

Hey Fam! What a week! As I have studied the scriptures this week I have noticed many times when the prophets are telling the people they have much "anxiety" for their souls. When the people are doing wrong and rejecting God and His teachings the prophets warn them right? But the people normally don't listen, at least in the bible. So then the people are destroyed. Sad right?? Well if the people would just soften their hearts they wouldn't be destroyed right? As a missionary I don't feel much anxiety for the people, but more of an urgency. There is an urgency in the work, that is what President Nelson says. There is so much to get done! And so much more to learn! So get on it! Join the awesomeness of sharing your belief in God! And your knowledge of this amazingness!!! The cake we got last week, it had two avocados in it. Ha ha! Guess What!!! It rained!!! Like poured! And since we are in the mountains it also flash flooded! So that was fun. We got like 2 ...

Lions, tigers and bears oh my!

Hey Fam! It has been quite the week. We met lots of people and stuff...  The elders made us a cake... it was random and I don't know why :) but I am very grateful  Anywho on Wednesday we were tracting and we walked up to a cabin to find like six people on the porch, we started talking to them and they said they were a band from Louisiana who had just played a little concert the day before and were leaving the next day. They also decided they wanted to play us a song, so they played a little christian country song called talking to God. It was so cool! I loved it :). Then they pulled out an accordion, which I don't think I have ever seen one played, so that was cool. The best way to describe them is by saying they were a christian, Cajun, country polka band :). So we left them with little scriptures cause they played a song for us, so that's neat. the zoo...in the middle of nowhere Today for pday Sister Kerby took me to the middle of nowhere where I thought s...

Life as a mountain missionary

Image
Hey Fam! This week has been Crazy!!! I made it to Rancho! So that's awesome!  Rancho Crew (awkward pic cause the elders can't touch me ;) My mission president is so nice! And he is from Cache Valley! So he told me I need to represent the valley well... No pressure. But I also met my trainer, Sister Kerby, she is the best person ever! Behind us is the unseen view of the ocean! My first full day here was super hard, we went contacting and tracting and I have never felt so rejected. I had prayed for these people and was trying to help them come closer to Christ, or even just help with yard work and they were so mean. And I kept thinking what did I do to deserve this? But when we got home and moped about it a little that night I read the scriptures, and it was quite the humbling reminder I needed that Christ was rejected too. He did nothing but love others and people rejected Him. It is hard to think of that but I know that as I depend on Christ He can help me thr...

She has arrived! I got this email on Monday, July 30th! Your missionaries made it safe and sound! We are extremely grateful for their sacrifice and the willingness of you all for letting them come and serve here in the California Rancho Cucamonga Mission! We’ll take good care of them! Elders Brimhall and Bryner Arriving Missionaries And we got this short email from Bailey the next day... So I made it to Rancho! So that's neat. It is super hot and the plane ride here was very smoggy due to a bunch of wild fires :). The mission president is Awesome! And said I will be a super star missionary cause I'm from cache valley... so no pressure.  I miss my mtc district, but i know they will do great in there missions! Pday is on Monday and I think I'm about to meet my trainer! I love you all and the church is true! Saying goodbye Rancho, here we come! Then the icing on the cake, we got a text from a member of the Wrightwood Ward who said s...

Oh Stella!

Week 2... I think. This week has gone by fast and it has been hectic (new word in my vocab thanks to sister puckett). And even crazier the elders and I leave on Monday for Rancho Cucamonga!!!!! Everyone else has to wait till Wednesday to leave, so that's sad cause my sister's and I will be separated :(. I can't remember what I said last week but I think I forgot to mention that because of Sister Water's sweet spirit and friendly manner we were made STLs. And we were given a cute little flip phone named stella to communicate with the branch president, hence the subject. But It was super fun yesterday cause we welcomed 35 new missionaries to our zone, which is three different districts, so yeah that kept us busy. Also we were hosts yesterday! It was so fun to carry 80 pound bags up the stairs to welcome missionaries! And now I don't have to work out the rest of the week, according to Sister Waters :) so fine by me! Hide and seek in the bins They foun...

Be Still My Soul

MTC district Week 1! This week was legit! Being here hasn't been to bad... Even if the food starts to taste the same... And The dorm starts to smell like dirty laundry... And the temple and the gym is closed for the month of July... But all in all the MTC is great! My daily schedule is pretty much the same. We wake up, eat, go to class, study, eat, study, go to class, go to another class, eat, study, sleep, repeat.  My companion is Sister Waters, and she was sent from heaven! She is so humble and kind. And super nice. We have so much in common and get along great, cause both of like our time away from people! She is from Santaquin Utah and is serving in the Denver South mission. We room with Sister Puckett and Sister Dayton who are the cutest sisters ever!!! And are so high energy! But we love them anyway ;) On Tuesday we had a missionary devotional and President Ballard came to speak to us! Which was awesome because apparently we don't normally get genera...
