Be Still My Soul

MTC district
Week 1!

This week was legit! Being here hasn't been to bad... Even if the food starts to taste the same... And The dorm starts to smell like dirty laundry... And the temple and the gym is closed for the month of July... But all in all the MTC is great!

My daily schedule is pretty much the same. We wake up, eat, go to class, study, eat, study, go to class, go to another class, eat, study, sleep, repeat.

My companion is Sister Waters, and she was sent from heaven! She is so humble and kind. And super nice. We have so much in common and get along great, cause both of like our time away from people! She is from Santaquin Utah and is serving in the Denver South mission. We room with Sister Puckett and Sister Dayton who are the cutest sisters ever!!! And are so high energy! But we love them anyway ;)

On Tuesday we had a missionary devotional and President Ballard came to speak to us! Which was awesome because apparently we don't normally get general authorities in July, but since we can't go to the temple it seems fair. Elder Ballard spoke to us on the restoration and how Joseph Smith and Hyrum Smith made the greatest companionship and they literally risked it all for this gospel. It was a great reminder to me, that I might not ever have to risk my life as a missionary but I will do all I can to share it with the world. During this devotional I was also in the choir and we sang be still my soul and the spirit was so strong! It was a great time :).

The zone

It has also been an emotional week, even though my district calls me emotionless cause I'm the only one who hasn't shed a tear yet ;). I have been feeling emotions. There were times when we were teaching our investigator and I didn't know what to say and after that I started questioning whether or not I knew this gospel enough to teach it. But after a lot of prayer God was able to humble me and remind me that I am not the teacher, I am the helper and the spirit is the teacher. My purpose is to invite the spirit, and say what it prompts me to say. And the next lesson went amazing!!! We discussed the Restoration and tomorrow we will be talking about the Plan of Salvation. I am so excited!

My district sisters
My district is awesome! Half the elders are going to Arkansas, the sisters are going to Colorado, and the other elders are going to Rancho with me! We also found 2 other districts full of elders going to Rancho... But no sisters yet, but I will keep looking!.
I love you all and you are all in my prayers!
